Linda Collister has written many baking books and her recipes are tried and tested - The Bread Book is an inspiring mix of world recipes and histories of those breads, which makes for an interest read as well as giving information about each bread. There's a no-nonsense introduction to ingredients and techniques. This book will hit the spot if you have a cultural interest in bread; Linda and Anthony collected these recipes from real people, often featured alongside their recipe. Being Manx, I particularly like the Isle of Man reference.
