Over the last two years Linda has been demonstrating her enthusiasm for bread baking with local and celebrity chefs. The opportunity to share new ideas and recipes has been inspirational. She has also experienced working in an award winning bakery, presenting at food shows, on local radio stations and regularly writes articles for county magazines.
A busy mum of two, Linda makes homemade nutritious breads for her family as part of their healthy diet. Today, many of us buy bread wrapped in plastic from supermarkets containing long lists of additives - bread that is not very healthy and often lacks any real taste. The true flavour of the wheat is hardly recognizable when masked by added improvers, enzymes, stabilizers, emulsifiers, mould inhibiters and preservatives. All for the sake of speed and mass production we have allowed supermarkets to dictate our taste and take away the joy of real bread. Skilled bakers can make bread on a commercial scale without all the additives, but this costs a little extra. However, if we do not use our high street bakers we will loose them. So, buy decent bread locally, invest in a bread machine or better still learn make it by hand in your own home; it is far easier that you may think.
